'Carbs' are your bodies main source of energy. Carbohydrates can be generally divided into two types, simple carbohydrates and complex carbohydrates. Complex carbohydrates include foods such as potatoes, peas, corn and grains. Simple carbohydrates are found in foods made with sugar (such as sweets). Simple carbohydrates are broken down more quickly and absorbed rapidly into your blood stream, where as complex carbohydrates provide a 'slow release' of energy over a prolonged period.
